The Worcestershire Youth Jazz Orchestra is continuing to go from strength to strength under the inspirational leadership of it’s Musical Director Ian Hattersley.

WYJO regularly takes part in many concerts including the International Oliver Cromwell Jazz Festival at Upton-Upon-Severn, the Pershore Jazz Festival, the National Festival of Youth Music, They have also performed at Birmingham’s Symphony Hall where they were invited to support the Worcester Youth Music Gala.

WYJO offers young musicians a chance to experience big band music with the opportunity to develop jazz improvisation skills alongside some of the counties finest accomplished jazz soloists.

The band plays a mixed repertoire of arrangements from jazz standards to Lennon and McCartney, all featuring jazz improvisations.

WYJO meet for rehearsals every Tuesday evening during term time at the British Legion Club in Droitwich, and are available for concerts, festivals, parties and other occasions.
